Consumer Alert

Did you know that there are no licensing requirements or regulations governing the practice or conduct of Commercial Roofing Contractors?  That's right, absolutely none whatsoever!  So, anyone with a ladder and a truck can call themselves a roofing contractor.
Contrary to public belief however,
roofing is an experienced trade and not learned overnight.  You wouldn't hire a non-professional contractor to do your plumbing or electrical work, so why on earth would you hire someone who has absolutely no clue on how to repair or replace the roof on your commercial building or residence?

The single most important component of your building or residence is the roof.  The single most important component of any new roofing system is the roofing contractor who specifies the system and installs it properly.

Knowing these facts, don't you think it would be prudent, wise and good business practice to pre-qualify your roofing contractor?  By properly pre-qualifying your roofing contractor you will insure that you are getting an experienced professional you can trust.  One who is honest with fair, competitive pricing (based on proper, professional specifications) and has a proven reputation for quality workmanship and materials with fast, reliable service.
There is no value in a cheap roof that leaks and has to be re-installed year after year.  We call these quick fixes "seasonal hatchet applications", and the people who install them as "fly-by-nights" because they are 'here today, gone tomorrow' with your money.
When it comes time to repair or replace your roof, don't be fooled by low prices and long-term warranties that are not worth the paper they are written on.  Most warranties offered only cover labor and materials on materials that are defective according to the manufacturer and do not cover workmanship.  All manufacturers’ warranties are null and void immediately if the roofing is not installed properly.
What good is a contractors warranty if they have no place of business and are gone tomorrow?
We have all heard the phrase "if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is".  Yet these unscrupulous contractors find a new victim everyday.  It is your decision when it comes time to choose a roofing contractor, and the consumer who chooses based on price only is that type of contractors prey.
Don't be a victim, be an educated consumer.
